I can just tell Ludger this way. He'll probably want to find us pretty soon after anyway, since you weren't here before. But it's not like he'll be upset or anything. It's pretty safe here, anyway.

[well.. at least right now. it's not always like this, but compared to some of the other things elle has seen since she's been here? this isn't so bad.]

[leia's been getting comfortable with her cerevice, so she knows all too well what it means when elle holds it up. she'll nod to approve.]

Yeah. I actually did talk to him, and Milla, too. Looks like they've been taking good care of you, just like he said.

[she's just glad to be able to see elle for herself, though, at last.]

[she's not surprised by the mention of jude, since she'd found him a bit earlier. and she's also not that surprised that leia managed to find him too, because those two always seemed pretty good at that, in her experience. it suits the coincidental-but-not-really nature of how their party always seems to wind up reuiniting.]

Everything in this place is kind of weird like that. I didn't really get it either, when Ludger first was telling me about it... [actually, she still doesn't really get a lot of it, but she'll fake like she does for as long as she can. it's not really her fault that ludger leaves out a lot of details and the other people she asked didn't really help, either.

even without understanding, elle already knows it's not like the other dimensions she's been to. milla is here, and it's not just any milla, but the one they knew; the one whose dimension they destroyed and had traveled with them. that makes this place special, even if elle doesn't really get how it's possible.]

Yeah... [leia is as clueless as she is, just this once. she's thought about it also, but didn't really come up with any answers on her own -- not yet, anyway. more investigation into this place would probably help.] I'm not sure any of us do, but we're just going to have to accept it for now.

[after all, she thinks this place is really special, too.]

The CEO's got the same name as glasses guy, too.

[she sounds a bit sad when she says that... but being able to use elle's nickname for him at least makes her smile a bit. she wonders what ludger thinks of that...]

He's kind of scarier than Glasses Guy, though.

[he was nice enough on the outside, elle knows this from his announcements and the way he made up for the murderbots with an apology and money. not that she doesn't think they were just being paid off, even an eight year old could figure out that much.

or maybe an eight year old like elle could, because she's dealt with spirius, which probably makes her an exception to the rule. she tilts her head, thinking about it for a second. he's definitely scarier than the kresnik julius, because he's a lot more like bisley.

her experiences back home definitely shade her view of this and ceres on the whole, because even if she doesn't really understand most of it (just like she didn't back there), she knows that there's probably a lot of lying going on, or at least... shading the truth to keep people from making a big deal out of it. she's just not really sure how, but it's definitely a problem.]

[she trails off nostalgically. julius had been the opposite of scary, after all: he had been kind and in the end, they owed him everything, just about. julius vincere, on the other hand...

elle's got reservations she isn't talking about, and it's not hard to see why.]

[leia glances around, as if it'd be that easy to find him. but even if he's not there, it isn't hard to imagine that he'd be keeping a close eye on them. otherwise, the personal invitations would be kind of... pointless. right?

she shrugs it off.]

Probably not. I don't think he's really gonna do anything right now, anyway. Isn't that kind of stuff dangerous?

[because he's all... big and important. and all that. but before leia can give her much of a response, elle has a thoughtful little outburst of her own.]

Oh! [a little lightbulb just clicked on in her head.]

[She opens her mouth like she's about to say something. Her immediate thought is "Dangerous for who," since they still seem to be at his mercy, no matter how far they outnumber him...

But she stops as abruptly as Elle pipes up.]

Well... you're a reporter, right, Leia?

[can she see where elle is going with this, maybe...]

Maybe you could try to get a scoop on him or something...

[she can see it just fine, and she's a big fan of the idea, honestly. she wonders how many people have tried, though.]

Yeah, you're right, Elle! You know, someone even suggested I start a newspaper here. This could totally be the first step.

[well, elle hasn't heard anything about it. not that it really means much when there's probably a lot she misses or has shielded from her. but still..]

Do you really think you'd be able to start a newspaper here? [that would be... pretty cool, honestly.]

I won't know until I try. Right?

[her motto has always been something akin to shooting for the stars. there are so many of them that it's okay if you miss.]

But it'll be a lot of work. I'll need help in the long run... probably.

[well, that definitely sounds like leia to her. at least, everything she's ever seen or known about leia adds up to this.]

I don't know if I can do much, but I'll try! Rollo too... And maybe Ludger... [elle, don't volunteer ludger for things when he's not even there to defend himself...]

[she laughs. considering how many things she roped ludger (and alvin) into, both through the job board and otherwise, she doubts there'll be a problem. he's got a soft spot for elle anyways, for obvious reasons... and she can just bully jude into helping, too, if she has to.

but she probably won't have to go that far.]

That would be great! Ludger's helped me out before, so I'm pretty sure I could talk him into it again. In the meantime, I just have to get my bearings a little and learn about this place.
