It had been a rough week. Most of it had consisted of hiding from real and imagined bogey men. B-but it was almost paper day...]

[Leia actually listens to the message a couple times. It's nice to hear Myriam sounding so human, admittedly--but then she never really had her doubts that beneath the box was just an ordinary excited teenage girl, just like her.

Even if she is frazzled, the message means she's alright, and that means a lot now.]

Hey! I'm working on it as we speak.

[...]

I hope you're okay, too. Need some company?

[Myriam would be there to pick up]

Hey Leia! Good to hear back from you. I'm-- [pause] doing okay...

That... that sounds nice, actually. Kahk kahk.

Where'd you have in mind?

[never knew, Leia could have a roommate she was unaware of]

[If she's honest, she didn't have anywhere in mind at all. It doesn't take long for to get on that same wavelength, though: she doesn't have a roommate. Not right now.]

You can come over. I stocked up on snacks and drinks after the power came back on.

[she was feeling uneasy enough to risk it]

What's your address?

[Leia's quick to give her the name of the apartment building and the room number. She has no idea where Myriam is, but--]

I can meet you out front if you need me to.

No, that's okay! If I'm followed... it's important they don't know who I'm going to see.

I'll be there in about fifteen minutes!

[she'd hang up and, if Leia did decide to hang around out front, she'd see Myriam approaching... but not simply in a straight line, but through what someone might imagine as "stealthily," with occasional ducks down to hide under her box, and constant turning to look behind her]

[She'll hang out, but in the lobby instead of outside. It's a decent compromise, isn't it...? When she spots the all-too-familiar box, though, she quickly moves to open the door and help her out.]

You made it!

Kaaaahk! Leia?? You were waiting for me?

[oh no...]

Did anyone see you??

[She looks around.

......They're the only two in the lobby.]

Nope! But there's no telling what'll happen if we stick around here... [Oooh, scary. Except not really. Myriam pls.]

...You're right!

--Kaaahk, which way is your place?? Let's go!

Come on, follow me! [She waves a hand.] It's just a short elevator trip away.

Ninth floor.

[...Okay, maybe not that short. Since it's quiet today, though, at least there shouldn't be to many stops on the way up.]

...Wow, that high? Yikes, that's like... nosebleed level. Kahk kahk.

--Wait, the elevator? ...are you sure it's safe?

...Well, I take it every day, so I'd hope so.

Come on! Don't tell me you're scared.

Kahk kahk kahk... maybe a little. What if the power goes out??

...Again? No way. I'm pretty sure we'd have to file some official complaints or something if it came to that.

[Though admittedly now that she's got it in her mind, she's a little worried, too. Which is totally different from being scared, for the record.

She calls for the elevator once they get there.]

I was stuck in the Entertainment District all night because of that blackout.

But... but... complaints won't help when we're trapped in an elevator!

[and the elevator opened, Scuttlebutt couldn't bring herself to do it now that she thought about the danger that could happen]

...I'll take the stairs. See you up there, Leia!

[She turned to... actually, she stopped. Where were the stairs?]

[She paused, looking around for a stairwell door or something...]

[The doorway to the stairs is a bit hidden, so she isn't surprised Myriam can't spot it inside that box. She tilts her head, though, notably giving her a look as the elevator shuts again.

They're too slow.]

...That's eight flights of stairs. Are you sure about this?

[... gosh, that sounded like a lot. And she'd look like a hypocrite if she didn't take the stairs back down again when she left. And she'd likely fall and break a bone or six when she inevitably tripped going down...]

Kahk kahk kahk... all right, you win. We'll take... the elevator.

[Phew. Even as energetic as Leia is, she doesn't really feel up to the climb, so she looks pretty relieved when she pushes the button again. No wait this time, as the elevator is already waiting for them.

Silently, she walks in first--hopefully that helps.

It's also pretty well-lit.]

[she'd hesitate for a moment before finally stepping in, and letting the doors shut behind her]

It's... a nice building. ...You have a lot of neighbors...?

Mm, I do. You'll see.

[And when the arrive at the ninth floor without incident, she steps out. Immediately, since the path is so second-nature to her by now, she leads the way.

Unsurprisingly, she's able to point out almost every door in the hall and tell her who lives there! Until they finally reach her room.]

...And here's mine!

[Scuttlebutt would take out her notepad to take notes on the people named, then!]

Sss, sss, sss, sss. All right, let's go in, then! Y'know, before we're noticed.

[She swipes her card after pulling it out of her purse and opens the door immediately after so that they can head on in.

It's dark at first, but she flicks on the light.]

Make yourself at home.

[There's a couch, a comfy looking chair, and near them both, a coffee table. There's also a TV with a couple different gaming consoles, a small path veers off to the kitchen, and another to her bedroom.

Since there's only one, it's really not very big apartment in the end, but she's made it her own.]

[wow, this was a veritable mansion compared to her place] [she'd just... look around, a bit, curiously]
